I am a visual and tattoo artist living in Denver, CO - originally from Atlanta, GA.
Like every great millennial, my professional life and artistic background are a bit all over the place. I have a BFA in Studio Art (2013) and a MaEd in Art Education (2015) from the University of Georgia. After graduating, I focused my creative energy in arts administration on working at the intersections of art, social justice, and sport, while maintaining my personal drawing practice. I did things like curate and produce large-scale, non-traditional art projects in the non-profit sector for the amazing Dashboard, and Atlanta Public Art Program, then moved to work in nonprofit administration and anti-oppression work in the pro sports world, tattooed full time for a few years, and now have landed back in the arts administration world, working for Denver’s Public Art Program. All the while, I have kept my art practice safe and close.
My work is a journaling-like practice that I use to process my experiences, my identities, and my relationships. Sometimes I know what my work is about, sometimes I don't. Seeing the things I make simultaneously makes my identities, my relationships, my trauma more visible to me, and more abstract… and that feels good.
